Galalith
The story behind our name
The owner of Galalith, Pascale Masselis graduated as a goldsmith from the Antwerp Academy of fine arts in 1983 and soon after created her namesake brand.
She started by looking for the ideal interior to showcase her handmade golden jewellery and came across an old, out-of-use haberdashery in Paris.
The moment Pascale set foot in the haberdashery, she knew it was the perfect setting. Dating back to 1885 it boasts an enchanting ambiance with a collection of 440 drawers
The whole interior was moved to Antwerp and to honor its legacy, Pascale made a decision— she would continue to sell buttons alongside her jewellery creations.
Galalith, the material that had been widely popular for making buttons, became the inspiration behind the store's name.
As time went by, Pascale's business grew and evolved, placing jewellery-making as her primary focus. Consequently, she decided to rename her store Pascale Masselis to reflect her own identity.
However, Pascale remained deeply connected to the past, and when she decided to open a guesthouse she called it Galalith. The name is a nod to her button-centric roots and the nostalgic atmosphere that surrounds her store.
Pascale Masselis
Goldsmith & Jewellery designer
Pascale bridges the qualities of a classic goldsmith with being a true artist and designer brand. Each piece is unique and handcrafted in-house to ensure the highest quality.
Founded on the idea that jewellery should be timeless and meant for everyday wear, her design are intended to become an extension of the person wearing it. More than a business endeavour, her brand is a way for Pascale to create her own world and pay homage to everything that inspires her. The designs are interwoven with personal stories, memories, and experiences.
The collection is comprised of organic and sculptural designs that pop with colour due to carefully selected gemstones. The designs are influenced by nature, and the purity of gold and gemstones are at the essence of the jewellery.
Outside of the one-of-a-kind, Signature Collection you can order bespoke pieces. Both showcase an attention to detail and quality that ensures generations to come may enjoy the colours, gems, and craftsmanship.
